Short Bio
Siyuan Chen is a second year PhD in Dr Rongjun Chen’s group, Chemical Engineering Department, Imperial College London. She works on developing multifunctional liposomes to combat multidrug resistance and achieve efficient intracellular drug delivery. The conventional liposomes will be surface modified with pH responsive, endosomal membrane-disruptive polymers synthesised by Dr Rongjun Chen that mimic viral fusogenic peptides in the viral spikes. The encapsulated therapeutic agents will mimic viral genome while the lipid bilayer structure will mimic capsid. This multifunctional liposomal system will be virus mimetic.
